Toyota Automotive Manufacturing

This project consists of two combustion Gas Turbine Generators rated @ 4.5 MWe each and air emissions limited to 15 ppm NOx. In the CHP cycle, there are also two supplementary fired Heat Recovery Steam Generators rated @ 50,000 pph each; two Steam Turbine Driven Centrifugal Chillers rated @ 1,200 tons each; and two Fuel Gas Booster Compressors at 100% capacity each. CEM helped Toyota obtain a large financial incentive for the project, as well as other pre-capital approval due diligence tasks. Toyota purchased the major equipment directly from the OEMs using technical specifications prepared by CEM. CEM was hired to complete all “process engineering”, that is, mechanical and electrical drawings, as well as structural design drawings in support of mechanical and electrical equipment specified by CEM. CEM was also responsible for electrical interconnect approval with the electrical LDC. CEM prepared, in total, roughly 185 drawings. Toyota issued an RFQ, complete with CEM’s drawings and specifications to five pre-qualified general contractors. CEM also provided contract administration and commissioning assistance to Toyota throughout.
