CEM's New Director, Western Canada

CEM Engineering is pleased to welcome Dave Roorda to the team in the role of Director, Western Canada. Dave will lead CEM's growth into the Western Canadian power generation and cogeneration market. CEM is excited about bringing its experience in small power generation (< 50 MW) and its client-focused approach to the Western Canada market.

Dave is a Professional Engineer with over 25 years of domestic and international experience in power generation, including commissioning, design, development, and operations roles. He has worked directly with OEM's, Owners, and Developers throughout Canada. Dave has extensive experience with both CHP and CCGT plants. Prior to joining CEM, Dave worked for ATCO Power in Alberta and served as Project Director, Senior Engineering Manager and Electrical Engineering Manager during his time there. Prior to working in Alberta, Dave worked at Brighton Beach Power Plant (580 MW CCGT Power Plant) and early in his career, worked for Siemens (formerly Westinghouse) in Ontario, primarily commissioning new simple and combined cycle power plants.

CEM is a thermal power engineering firm, specializing in cogeneration and energy management. CEM provides custom engineered solutions to help our clients achieve their environmental and energy goals. At CEM, our main focus is YOU – your business, your goals, and your objectives. As a technology agnostic firm, we understand that one technology does not fit all, which is why we specialize in so many areas: power generation, cogeneration, boilers, biogas/biomass, district energy, and global adjustment management.

We are happy to welcome Dave to the team!
