Martin Lensink, P. Eng., VP CO2 Reduction

Martin is a senior mechanical engineer who specializes in thermal power engineering, energy engineering, and energy management. Martin has over 35 years of experience in helping energy intensive customers manage energy through technology. He specializes in the development of high efficiency cogeneration systems based on combustion gas turbines, steam turbines, and internal combustion engines. Martin is responsible for business development, client relations, and strategic planning at CEM.

Martin gained his natural gas/LDC perspective on cogeneration and energy management between 1982 and 1989, while employed with Union Gas. He acquired his engineering perspective and expertise on cogeneration while employed by SNC Lavalin/W.P. London between 1990 and 1993. He became especially knowledgeable on combustion gas turbine generators and heat recovery steam generators while employed by Rolls-Royce/U.S. Turbine between 1993 and 1998. Finally, he came to an appreciation of the role of the Energy Services Provider and how projects are financed and capital cost recovered in three (3) very valuable years with Toromont Energy between 1998 and 2001.

Martin often jokes that he had a 21 year apprenticeship period before starting CEM Engineering in 2001. Since establishing CEM, Martin has grown from a 2-person firm to a firm of over 50 employees. A customer-focused individual, Martin is driven by the desire to help customers increase earnings through energy use and energy cost reduction initiatives.
